Hello, My name is James L, born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and I am currently a junior at ODU. I recently transferred from TCC after receiving an Associates Degree in Social Science. When I originally started TCC, I was uncertain of what I wanted to do career wise – though I knew I wanted to help people in some capacity — until I found a passion for Psychology after taking multiple psychology classes.

My favorite classes thus far have been Social Psychology, Psychology of Criminal Behavior, and Abnormal Psychology. The content of the aforementioned courses have been the most interesting for me to learn. With that having been said, I am a Psychology major, trying to decide on the minor right for me, but I am interested in Sociology, Human Services, and Criminal Justice. I see so many opportunities for a career path within this field and I am taking my time to carefully choose the one that is best for me in the long run.

In my spare time I enjoy writing, music, and video games, but between school and family, I stay busy for the most part.

Culture is a major topic in Sociology, which I thoroughly enjoyed viewing from a Sociological perspective, so I am interested in learning more about culture from the Psychological perspective, especially since they are subjects that consistently overlap with one another.
