I am a 21-year-old, soon to be graduate of Old Dominion University’s College of Health Science. My current employer and internship site, (Fairbanks Native Association) is located in Fairbanks Alaska. I currently am employed as their Outreach Specialist/Coordinator for the Youth Behavioral Health Program. FNA is a nonprofit organization which started as an advocacy program for Alaska Natives in the 1960s. This program has grown into an organization dedicated to providing for the greater Fairbanks community.
Vision: We are a unified, healthy, and empowered Native community that embraces all cultures.
Mission: To improve the quality of life for individuals and families by promoting justice, healing, and wellness in our community.
As an Outreach Specialist/Coordinator I am responsible for contacting and establishing relationships with community shareholders, individuals, and families. I partner with other organizations and internal FNA departments to hold public events which provide access to care and decrease the stigma surrounding mental health care in the area.
