About Me:

My name is Amanda Gainer. I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and is where I currently reside. I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University majoring in the Interdisciplinary Studies Teacher Preparation Program with a concentration on Primary/Elementary Studies. At this time, I have currently been accepted into the Teacher Education Program.

Once I finish and graduate from the undergraduate program in May of 2021, I plan to enroll in the graduate school an obtain my Master’s degree.

Once I become a licensed teacher, I would like to teach in one of the surrounding public school systems in Hampton Roads, local daycares or Early Childhood programs in the area.

In my spare time, I love to dabble in various mediums of art including: playing instruments, singing, dancing, theatre and drawing. I also love to read books and watch home improvement shows and nature documentaries, and observe nature wherever I go.
