My name is Antionette Rivera and I am an undergraduate student at Old Dominion University. I chose to attend Old Dominion University because it has a great nursing program, I received a merit scholarship, and it is close to where I live.  I currently am a member of Old Dominion’s Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. I am majoring in nursing and minoring in human services. I work as a medical scribe at Pariser Dermatology. Once I graduate from Old Dominion University, I plan on applying to a graduate program so that I can become a nurse anesthetist. I have always wanted  to be a nurse because I love helping people and I want to make a difference in people’s lives. To achieve my goal, I will continue to do well in all of my courses and continue to volunteer at places that will prepare me for the nursing field. My goal is to graduate ODU by May 2020 and to be a nurse anesthetist by the year 2027. When I graduate from ODU, I plan on becoming an intensive care nurse.
