Writing is always hard, yet I want to write.  I don’t revel in my own suffering, though I’ve put myself in the position of perpetual pain.  A bit of an over-exaggeration, perhaps, but anyone who has tried to write well knows exactly what I mean. Every writer that has walked the earth has discovered these tribulations. Writing is hard work no matter who you are.  The truth that some people are never lucky enough to realize, however, is that it can be joyful work.

It is my goal to guide students along the stream of becoming better writers, so when they get to the ocean, they will be prepared for its storms.
