Hello. My name is Nakisha Smith and I am a dedicated higher education professional with extensive experience in student affairs and administration. Currently serving as the Student Experience of Teaching (SET) Specialist at the University of Virginia’s Office of the University Registrar, I am responsible for managing course evaluations and optimizing course content through advanced data analytics and curriculum management systems.
With a Master of Education in Higher Education-Student Affairs from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Old Dominion University, where I graduated with distinction, I have consistently demonstrated academic excellence and leadership. I also hold an Associate of Science in General Studies from John Tyler Community College, a member of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
In addition to my professional role, I actively participate in numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (SACRAO). I am also involved in several honor societies, such as Kappa Delta Pi and Tau Upsilon Alpha, where I served the executive office of Vice President.
I am proficient in a variety of technical tools essential for modern educational administration, including PeopleSoft, SIS, Curriculog, Acalog, Blue, and Microsoft Office Suite. With a commitment to enhancing the educational experience for students and a track record of successful administrative support, I aim to bring expertise to the higher education landscape.
