About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Nakisha Smith, I reside in Charlottesville, Virginia, and I am in my final semester of graduate school at Liberty University’s School of Education located in Lynchburg, Virginia.
A few types of technology I enjoy using from a grad student and higher education professional’s perspectives are:
- Instructure’s learning management system (LMS), Canvas
- Microsoft’s Office 365 Suite
- Modern Campus’ curriculum management software, Curriculog
- Explorance’s course evaluation, survey, and analytic software, Blue
- PeopleSoft’s Student Information System (SIS)
I will graduate in May 2024 with a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Higher Education- Student Affairs. I have been in love with learning and education from a very early age. Although I am a non-traditional student in many ways, I continue chasing my educational goals and dreams, making new discoveries at every turn! They say when you are passionate and love your job, you’ll never have a day of work; this is what I feel as a full-time higher ed professional and full time grad student. I have played office and school as a child and it’s so befitting that one’s life is determined at such an early age: I work in an office at a school and have been a student the past 5 years with no semester off!
Thanks for witnessing as I chronicle my journey through Dr. Shakerra Bowe’s EDUC 630 – Technology Practices for Instructional Improvement course this Spring 2024 term.
Best,
