In this Portfolio, you will be able to find content related to my journey in learning Spanish. As someone who intends to work in the educational field, it will be helpful to communicate in another language other than English. Spanish will be particularly helpful to me as I intend to go back to Arizona and work with children who have intellectual disabilities along with working with children who are English Language Learners (ELL). Growing up in Arizona I have always run into people who don’t speak much English and it would be very useful for me to be able to speak to them especially when they are parents in my classroom. Having the ability to talk with these parents will make them feel less reserved and feel more comfortable and understood.
Furthermore, my knowledge of Spanish will help will allow me as an educator to work more effectively with my students and their parents. This way, I am able to have a classroom where everyone is included and no one is left out or left behind.
My experiences with learning Spanish are reflected throughout this portfolio, capturing my ability to read, write, and speak this language. If you have questions about any content I’ve shared, please feel free to use my Contact Form to reach out to me.
