About Me
Hi everyone, my name is Lequita. Psychology became a passion of mine after I personally experienced a traumatic experience a few years ago. Ever since then I’ve had this burning desire to help others who may be silently suffering by helping them find the tools and resources out there to help themselves. And what better way to start than by starting with the mind! It’s my dream to someday introduce a new treatment option to treat the growing population of individuals suffering from psychological trauma, anxiety, and depression while also treating the individuals who are unable to cope with these disorders throughout their day. I am in my last year at ODU as a psychology major (yaayy!!) and I’m working towards becoming a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety, trauma, and depressive disorders. That’s why it’s important for me to take this course. Studying social psychology will allow me to grasp a better understanding of the social factors that contribute to the causes and symptoms of the disorders I plan to treat in the future. This information will make me a more well-rounded psychologist and better equip me to treat my clients. Everyone deserves to live a happy, healthy life. No one should have to be subjugated to live with the crippling effects that arise from traumatic experiences, anxiety disorders, or depression and that’s what I plan on ensuring.
On an average day I’m either outdoors in nature hiking, treating myself to a movie or museum adventure, or in the gym working out for about an hour or two. I have become a bit of a gym rat these last few months so if I have nothing else to do that’s where you’ll find me.
