My name is Lauren White and I am a Freshman with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. My career goal is to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I am highly motivated to do well in college so that I can apply to the guaranteed entrance program at Old Dominion. As a personal goal, I strive to graduate in three years instead of four. I would eventually like to intern at a Physical Therapy Center.
I am taking this course because I thought it would be interesting to learn more in depth about the social side of psychology. I took AP Psychology in high school, and was intrigued by this subject. I think phenomena such as the bystander effect and social loafing are significant aspects of how people react to daily occurrences.
One of my hobbies is cooking. I went vegan a year ago, and find cooking and baking more fascinating because I have to find plant based substitutes for things like eggs and dairy. I also enjoy yoga and practicing mindfulness. Yoga is very much invested in mental health, and being patient with the overall moves. Lastly, I thoroughly enjoy reading. I even have a journal for the sole purpose of cataloging the books that I read.
