I was born in Fairfax, Virginia. My Parents were both from Vietnam but moved here during the war. I also have a sister that is two years older than me. From preschool to the seventh grade I went to school in Manassas, Virginia but in the eighth grade I moved to Stafford, Virginia. Growing up I was active in school sports like wrestling and football. After high school I attended Old Dominion University and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. After graduation I was accepted to the Navy’s Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. I was commissioned as a surface warfare officer and bought a house near my duty station which was Norfolk, Virginia. After I retired I decided to come back to Old Dominion University for my cyber security degree. After seeing how critical cyber security was in the military I decided to pivot into the field.
