My name is Macie Hourt and I am a registered dental hygienist in a busy, upbeat private general dentistry practice. I have been practicing dental hygiene for approximately four years. I work four days per week and I am enrolled as a full time student in Old Dominion University’s M.S. Dental Hygiene program.

My goal is to complete my M.S. degree in December 2022. I plan to gain more experience as a clinician and then use my degree to become an online dental hygiene educator. I aspire to become a positive influence to future dental hygienists. My research interests include ergonomics, musculoskeletal disorders, and use of loupes in dentistry.
