My name is Malya Collins, I’m 20 years old. My major is sports management with a minor in marketing. I come from a very big football family so that’s where my love for sports originally came from. I spent a lot of time with my aunt who is from Philly. She would bring me up there a lot to spend time with her side of the family. While we were there, she would take me to the Philadelphia Eagles stadium just to see it. I’ve never been inside, but it was always nice to look at. Along with that, watching my cousins and brothers play football is where I got my passion for sports. I went onto manage wrestling teams for multiple seasons. My professional career path that I would like to go into is event planning specifically sport event planning. My overall goal is to either work for the NFL’s Event coordination department or work for the Philadelphia Eagles event planning department.

This website was created for me to share my journey in my sports communications class. To show the ins and outs of what sports are really about. I hope that I am able to use the site in my future to show to future bosses or coworkers. Though, if I don’t use it for that, hopefully it’s something that I can look back on after I graduate and I’ve gotten my first job in the real world. Maybe even help future graduates who are confused on what they wanna do figure it out as well.
