My name is Mario Martinez, I am an online student at Old Dominion University working towards a bachelors degree in Computer Science.

I am a practicing Full-Stack Developer and Software Engineer, with a specialty for working on applications hosted in the AWS Cloud.  My language of preference is Java, though I am proficient with Python and I know enough JavaScript to mock up a decent front-end. I am also proficient with scripting languages puppet and bash, which I use frequently for DevOps work. I am currently working on a certification to be a Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.

I have been a practicing developer since 2019 when I graduated high school. I previously attended Virginia Tech until I left to take a full time development position. I’m now taking classes part time to finish my degree.

In my free time, I greatly enjoy playing videogames online with friends and traveling the country to visit historical sites. My favorite game currently is probably Helldivers 2, but I mostly play whatever my friends ‘game of the month’ happens to be so don’t be surprised to see me playing anything from Call of Dusty to Final Fantasy XIV.
