Hello,
My name is Tiana Martin and I am a Sophomore Psychology ODU Student hailing from Newport News, Virginia.
I come from a blended family consisting of my mom, dad, step-mom, and five siblings. I am the second eldest out of six children ranging from the age of 4 to 24 years old, so my life can get a little hectic. My upbringing is the reason I chose to major in Psychology. Growing up, I’ve always been the mediator in my family, whether it was diagnosing issues with my younger siblings or bridging the communication gap between by older brother and dad. Helping people fix their problems became my passion and now my future occupation.
My goals, in addition to earning my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my master’s in Public Administration, is to become a LMFT because my passion is enriching the lives of others. I believe that if you are blessed to have people in your life who have helped you achieve goals and ambitions then the same care should be passed on to others. However, my main goal is to remain happy and positive about my life and the future.
I am taking this course to make myself a more well rounded student and future Psychology professional. It is extremely important to know the social Psychology involved in everyday life and decisions in order to well informed Psychologist and Psychology professional.
