My name is Maurice Davis-Taylor and I’m currently majoring in Cybersecurity. I currently work in Law Enforcement at the Newport News Sheriffs Department as a deputy with a background in I.T. and I want to step back into the field with Cybersecurity as my focal point. 

As of this semester, I am  a part-time student currently taking CYSE 200t – Cybersecurity -Technology & Society, as well as CYSE-201- Cybersecurity & Social Science. It has only been a few weeks in the semester, but I have already learned several things about the interactions between Cybersecurity and general public, as well as the fundamentals of Cybersecurity which include important topics like the C.I.A. Triad and how it pertains to several corners of the corporate field.

My professional goal with Cybersecurity is to hopefully find a job within a government agency like the Secret Service, C.I.A. or F.BI. I’d want to improve my knowledge in order to better understand and learn more about Cybersecurity and it’s various applications in order to become more of an asset within whichever organization I wind up joining if they allow me to do so.
