Hi Friends! My name is Mikayla Bushner-White and I am a Psych major with a business minor. My current goals are to graduate next May, grow in my writing abilities, and continue to network for job opportunities in the future. This class is a perfect opportunity to do the last two specifically! Another goal of mine, that is more long term entails becoming a child psychologist who works with children and their families in the field of mental health. I grew up in a household where mental health split us, so my goal is to try and help aid others with help I never had. Furthermore, I am a christian and after I graduate I have hopes to get into a master program for this field at a christian based university. This will ensure I have the option of being flexible in my approach with my clients based on each ones needs. 

Part of why I took this course was because I am a social butterfly and enjoy interactions with people. I know this class will supplement the curiosity I have as to why, and how interactions affect me and those around me. The main reason I took this course is because I love psychology. When I first entered college I was a biology major looking to go to medical school and become a sports medicine physician. I then switched my major to psychology when I took introductory psych and fell in love! Psychology is a dynamic field and is something we use in everyday life whether we realize it or not. How complex, yet practical psychology is, is what did it for me. 

Lastly, I wanted to say that you are fully loved and fully known by our creator. Words matter, chose them wisely. We are all brought into this world with a purpose and calling, don’t rest until you discover it(:
