My name is Mindy Medrana and I am currently stationed in Virginia Beach, VA. My parents immigrated from the Philippines and although my siblings and I were all born in the U.S., the eldest of us had to take ESL when he started school. My interest in TESOL stems from my desire to work with those who may experience similar situations. Growing up surrounded by multiple languages, I developed a fascination with the diversity of communication modes and cultures which culminated in me graduating from the Speech-Language Pathology program with minors in Special Education and World Cultures. I am now in graduate school pursuing my master’s in SLP with hopes of helping others learn/relearn effective communication.
