Hello! My name is Mikaylah Adams! I am from Hampton, Virginia and I chose Old Dominion University because I think it’s a great fit for me. ODU offers students a variety of opportunities and guarantees a great college experience. Some of my favorite things to do on my free time are listen to music, color, and play my Xbox.

My intended major is Nursing. I decided on nursing because I feel like I have a deep connection with helping people. I don’t have any certified experience with nursing, but my great-grandmother had Alzheimer’s before she passed away in 2021. I cared for her everyday with my grandmother and aunt. It took a lot of dedication for us because sometimes it can be hard working with someone who has a disablity. I enjoyed being there for her and if I could do it again I would. My great-grandmother is the reason why I chose nursing, I want to help more people like her.
