Hello

I am Brittany Campbell and I am a first year student at Old Dominion University. I am beyond excited to finally be able to pursue my dream of becoming a librarian. I am from a small town in Virginia called Hot Springs. I am married with a four-year-old little girl who is so much fun to be around!

I have always had a passion for reading and all things books, and because of this love for literature, I received a BA in English from Mary Baldwin University. I am currently an instructional assistant at an elementary school and I love working with kids. For a long time, I thought I wanted to be an English teacher and was pursuing that, but I just couldn’t push out the thought of becoming a librarian, and after a lot of back and fourth, I realized this is the path I should be taking and here I am in my first semester of library school!

Since I do love working with kids, I would love to continue doing that and work as a children’s librarian or teen librarian and work in public libraries. I would love to be able to work in my town’s very small library to help build it up and make it more accessible by implementing more programs for kids and teens and helping to build our collection.
