Ian Berry MLIS Portfolio

Ian G. Berry

I was born in the small blue-collar factory town of Muskegon, Michigan. In search of better opportunities, my mother and father picked up their midwestern roots and relocated to the beautiful state of Virginia. Over the course of my childhood and into my adult years I have fabricated a passion centered around my love for books, traveling, and storytelling.

In 2008 I moved out west to Austin, Texas and in 2016 I graduated from Austin Community College where I received my associate of art degree in radio, television, film. In 2019 I followed up my passion for higher education and received a bachelor degree in media arts from the University of North Texas. In 2021 I enrolled in the Master of Library Information Studies program at Old Dominion University and look forward to completing the MLIS program by the end of 2023.

My future goals are anchored in my passions for education, filmmaking, multimedia, storytelling, and of course reading. I pride myself on having a nontraditional background in education, and look forward to using my multifaceted background to spark future generations curiosities and interests.
