Thank you for taking your time and visiting my e-Portfolio page! My name is Jason Peters and I live in Manassas, Virginia, I am married and have three sons ages 24, 23 and 14. I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, wood working and most sports. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration and a Master’s in Human Resource Management. I was in the United States Air Force for nearly 21 years. I loved every minute of it and and thought I would remain in the medical field after I retired form the military, but while working as a civilian in health care administration I kept feeling a strong desire for a change. As I thought about jobs that assist others and reflected on my past experiences as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, coaching youth and adult sports, and providing medical training to teenagers and adults within and out of the medical career field; I kept thinking of the library. When my sons were younger we would go to the library to read, attend storytimes and participate in activities. These libraries also had many other programs being offered to the communities. I have a passion for helping others and the library does just that in many ways and I cannot wait to one day be a librarian! Where I can pay it forward and inspire children to read, provide outreach services to my community and offer training that will better our patrons.
