Bookworm Extraordinaire

The first novel I ever read was Help! I’m a Prisoner in the Library! (Clifford, 1979). I couldn’t put it down. I read it in bed under the covers with only the light of my glowworm to illuminate the pages. I tucked it into my textbook and stealthily turned the pages instead of paying attention to my math lesson. A pattern that would follow me throughout my school years. Nowadays, I still stay up reading too late but I have a booklight. Getting trapped in the library sounds like a dream come true. Which is why I am perusing a masters degree in Library and Information Studies.

I studied Creative Writing at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. I still cherish the idea of publishing my own book someday but my focus for the better part of the last two decades has been selling books. My passion is children’s books. I am excited to bring both my knowledge and passion to the school library.
