“Libraries were full of ideas–perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons…”

Sarah J. Maas Throne of Glass

Welcome!

Greetings! And welcome to my e-portfolio, which serves as a requirement for my master’s program at Old Dominion University. Within this e-portfolio, you will find work artifacts, a curated list of excellent resources for librarians, and more.

My passion for reading began early and my bookshelves growing up have always been full. I was one of those students who loved school. Therefore, I took my passion into my career and became a teacher. I have been teaching for eight years and earned my BA from Bridgewater College. I have experience in all the middle grades and at the high school level. My subject of expertise is in history.

As a teacher, I have always tried to incorporate the library in my classroom by introducing students to historical fiction and engaging lessons with the school librarian. I have worked closely with the school librarian at every school I have worked at. Thus, developing this relationship with the librarians I have worked with led to a passion for leading my own school library.

Please enjoy browsing the samples of my growth throughout the MLIS program at ODU. By browsing these artifacts of my work, you will see the passion for creating an extension of the classroom leap from the pages you read.
