About Me

My name is Jenell Steis. Currently, I am a Long-Term Substitute School Librarian on the elementary level. I live with my husband who is an Air-force Vet, and we are raising our 7-year-old son who is on the ASD spectrum. We also have a Silver Lab who I can promise is my son in dog form. Previously, I have worked in a Public Library as a Teen Library Assistant for 9 years and I absolutely loved the connection I was able to build with the teens. After graduation, I would like to secure a position in the school system I currently work in. When I began my career in the Public Library about 6 months as a circulation assistant, I received a promotion. My supervisor looked at me during the meeting and said, “I know a Librarian when I see one, you are one now go get a degree”. I did not realize until that moment that I was destined to be a Librarian so here I am.
