About Me

My name is Bridget Lee Munoz and I am a senior this year at Old Dominion University, studying Psychology with a focus in Art Therapy. I was originally born in Manhattan, New York City on August 1st 1996 and had moved to Virginia Beach with my family in 2002. While being a full time student I juggle three jobs. One being a barista at a Starbucks cafe, the second being a sales associate for hand bag designer Michael Kors, and lastly being an operational manager for a local online loose-tea business called The Certaintea. For as long as I can remember, I have always been determined, optimistic, and gritty. While being involved in many things, I have always been driven by my passions.

One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I am a 9/11 survivor. I was only 5 years old, and my school was 4 blocks away from ground zero. The most frequent question I get involving 9/11 is, “Do you remember?”. All that I remember were the clouds of the opaque smoke and the endless sea of overlapping yells. These moments in time will be forever extolled in my memory. As I have progressed through life, the events of that fateful day have helped to guide my personal path towards success, teaching me to be courageous and committed to producing meaningful global change. With my degree I plan to continue on to Graduate school and eventually become a certified Art Therapist. My goal in life is to travel with Medical Relief Organizations to countries that have been through natural disasters to offer aid to those who have experienced physical and mental trauma. I am very excited to learn all that this course has to offer including why and how diverse cultural backgrounds plays a considerable part in human behavior.
