About Me

Hello, my name is Caitlyn Kidd. I am a Dean’s List sophomore music education student at Old Dominion University. I come from a family of five. My family and I have a very close relationship with one another and they are my biggest role models. In high school, I received several honor awards for music and academics. I also was involved in show choir, where I was named dance captain, cheer, where I was appointed the position of basketball captain, as well as track and field. I am involved in three organizations on Old Dominion’s campus. I am the current Outreach Coordinator for Ebony Impact Gospel Choir, a member of the Blue Diamond Stomp and Shake Cheer Team, and a model for Prestige and Poise Modeling and Majorette Troupe. I have chosen these three organizations because they all represent the person I am outside of college.

I have experience teaching 4th grade to 8th grade aged students. I volunteer with an organization during the summer months for a week-long camp. This has made a big contribution to my love for teaching. It has also given me insight into what grade level I will one day like to teach. During high school after I was appointed the role of dance captain, I knew from then on that I wanted to and had to make teaching music my profession. After this revelation, I have stuck to the path of becoming a music educator.
