Introduction

My name is Nicholas Dent, and I am currently a student at Old Dominion University pursuing studies in cybersecurity. I began my academic journey at ODU in August 2024 after graduating from high school, bringing with me an interest in computers and a foundational background in programming through an Introduction to Python course. While my early coding experience was limited, it sparked my curiosity about technology and problem-solving.

Now in my second semester, I have completed CYSE 201S and am currently enrolled in CYSE 200T and CYSE 250. Through my coursework, I have significantly expanded my understanding of the social sciences aspects of cybersecurity, including how human behavior and societal factors influence security practices. I am eager to continue developing both my technical and analytical skills as I progress through these courses and further explore the field of cybersecurity.
