Professional Goals

Professional Goal 1: Learn More About Health Services Administration

One of my main goals during my internship at ARDX is to learn how health services administration works in real-life settings. In my Public Health program, I have learned about healthcare systems, policies, and how organizations are managed. During this internship, I want to see how these ideas are used every day in the workplace. I plan to learn by helping with projects, attending meetings, and asking questions when I need clarification. By the end of my internship, I hope to have a better understanding of how healthcare organizations operate and how professionals work together to improve health services.

Professional Goal 2: Build My Leadership and Management Skills

Another goal I have is to improve my leadership and management skills. As a Management minor, I have learned about teamwork, planning, and working with others to reach goals. During my internship, I hope to practice these skills by working with different team members and taking responsibility for assigned tasks. I also want to observe how managers and leaders guide their teams and make important decisions. By the end of the internship, I hope to feel more confident in my ability to lead, communicate, and work effectively with others.

Professional Goal 3: Improve My Problem-Solving and Research Skills

My third goal is to improve my problem-solving and research skills. Public health professionals often use information and data to understand problems and find solutions. During my internship, I hope to help with research projects, review information, and learn how ARDX solves challenges for its clients. I plan to learn from my supervisors and ask questions to better understand the work being done. By the end of the internship, I hope to feel more comfortable analyzing information and using it to make informed decisions.

Professional Goal 4: Grow My Professional Network

Another goal I have is to meet new people and build professional connections. An internship is a great chance to learn from people who already work in the field I want to enter. I plan to introduce myself to coworkers, participate in meetings, and take advantage of opportunities to learn from others. Building these relationships can help me learn more about career options and gain advice from experienced professionals. By the end of the internship, I hope to have made valuable connections that can support me as I begin my career after graduation.
