My name is Ryan Beazley and I am a senior at Old Dominion University. I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia and I am a Health Services Administration major with a minor in management. I am interning with Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake. This organization is a non-profit that focuses on connecting elderly and disabled residents with nourishing food options at their convenience. The organization values sustainability, connection, safety, equity, and nourishment. The organization has been helping residents find nourishment since 1977. Helping elderly residents who live alone, have limited access to healthy food, and cannot prepare meals for themselves, are examples of who the organization strives to serve and improve well-being for. Megan Mann is the executive director of the Chesapeake location. She oversees daily operations such as ensuring each resident receives their daily meals, systems are being ran properly, coordinates with other community organizations, and more. Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake is located at 736 Battlefield BLVD N, as it is apart of Chesapeake Regional Hospital.
