About

Sachin Shetty is Executive Director of the Center for Secure and Intelligent Critical Systems within the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Old Dominion University. He received his Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation from Old Dominion University in 2007. His research lies at the intersection of computer networking, network security, and machine learning.

Over the last two decades, his laboratory has received more than $18 million in funding from the National Science Foundation, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Air Force Research Lab, Office of Naval Research, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, and Boeing. He has authored and co-authored over 300 research articles in journals and conference proceedings and edited four books. He serves as ODU site lead on multiple federal Centers of Excellence in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
