Hello, my name is Tamia Dickens and I’m currently a third semester nursing student at Tidewater Community College. I earned my bachelor’s in human resource management in 2021, and after working as a manager for two years, I went back to school to obtain my nursing degree. I recently switched careers and now I’m a PCT at Sentara Leigh Hospital until I graduate this December 2026. I hope to work in the ICU at whichever hospital I end up at, before I pursue a higher nursing degree.

In my personal life, I like to read, go to the movies, do outdoor activities, and spend time with my two dogs. I’ve lived in Virginia for a little over three years now, but I’m originally from St. Louis Missouri. I’m currently trying to find a hobby that I can do in my free time so I won’t be as stressed out this semester as I have been in previous semesters, so I’m always exploring!
