WELCOME

My name is Torrance Massenburg Jr., and I am proud to be a senior at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, I graduated from Churchland High School with an Advanced Diploma with Honors and am now pursuing a double major in Cybersecurity, with an emphasis on Criminal Justice, and Sound Recording Technology as a percussionist. I hope to graduate in May 2024!

Currently, I serve as the President of WEPA, a Latin-based dance organization at ODU, where I help bring creativity and energy to campus life. Music is my true passion—I love playing instruments like drums, electric guitar, bass, and acoustic guitar, and I’m always seeking new ways to express myself through sound. Some might describe me as talented, but I believe it’s all about the dedication and love I pour into my craft.

In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with friends, catching some waves during Sunday morning surf sessions, and creating memories with family. I value those moments deeply, as I believe life’s fleeting nature reminds us to treasure every connection.

My journey into Cybersecurity started early. As a child, I attended camps and activities that sparked my interest in technology. I even spent my early teens developing games on Roblox, where I went by the usernames “Kit6789” and “Void_Cheddar.” Creating scripts, animating, and designing planes gave me an exciting introduction to programming. In my later teens, I attended the Norfolk State University Science and Technology Camp, where I explored creative projects like sculpting with clay. I also participated in the Old Dominion University Cyber Camp, which solidified my passion for cybersecurity. My team even won a tournament at the camp, a moment I’m especially proud of!
