How An Interior Designer Became a Pharmacist

Summary/Reflection

I chose to interview Meaghan Beasley, who is a pharmacist and pharmacy manager at a Rite Aid pharmacy. She originally earned a BA in interior design. Meaghan returned to school to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical science from the University of South Florida. Afterward, she received her pharmaceutical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. When asked about sustainability in her field and workplace, she believes that there should be more practices put in place. Some examples that Meaghan mentioned were biodegradable packaging and digital pdfs rather than packets of paper. In addition to answering questions about sustainability, she also answered questions about her work life. She mentioned that as a pharmacist and pharmacy manager she has a lot on her schedule that keeps her busy all the time. Interviewing Meaghan Beasley has made me realize that pharmacists do much more than what people think they do. It has inspired me, and made me consider pharmaceuticals as a possible back-up plan to nursing.
