I only answered yes to one of the nine questions. \u201c8.Often used social media to escape from negative feelings? Yes\/No (Escape)\u201d. I often use social media to escape awkward social situations. If I need an escape from intrusive thoughts, I will open social media as a form of distraction. The items on the scale are worrisome. I can see how younger people can become addicted to social media and all the misrepresentations of everyday life. This is concerning because there is no clear direction to internet usage, more importantly social media as technology has developed. I believe different patterns are found worldwide based on the differences in culture and when children are exposed to social media.
