About Me

My name is Cathy Wallace, I am a mother of 3 adult children, 1 sixteen year old, and I am a widow.  This summer 2018 after completing my internship I will be graduating from Old Dominion University.  I have been at this since the year of 2013, and I have received an Associates Degree in Human Services, and a certification in Substance Abuse Counseling while attending Reynold’s Community College in Richmond, VA.  I have a Virginia State license as a Certified Substance Abuse Counseling Assistant (CSAC-A) .  I have since transferred to ODU, and I’m an online student  finishing up  my Bachelors Degree in Human Services.   After graduation this summer 2018, I’ll have two more classes to take so that I can be an Certified Substance Abuse Counselor.  I am looking forward to interning this summer with a substance abuse program in the Northern Neck area of Virginia.  My goal is to work as an substance abuse counselor, working with some of our veterans who are coming home with mental health issues, and who may be self-medicating.
