                                                            Abstract

This research plan illustrates how the Mixed Method Evaluation plan clearly identifies Newington Clothes Closet most production service program and its impact within the community. This evaluation plan will also demonstrate the stakeholder’s impact within this nonprofit organization and their impact on their clientele. The key questions that I will use within my evaluation to address these concerns are: which program offered at the Newington Clothes Closet has sufficiently impacted its client’s overall well-being and why and what makes this program thieve? The methods that I will use to collect my data will be interviews, surveys and questionnaires, and observations. Ultimately, the data collected from these methods will provide Newington Clothes Closet with the necessary tools to address all the multicultural needs within their community and organization. In turn, promoting new outreach programs within the community and inspiring growth within the organization. Not only growth within the organization, but also in their clientele.

                                                          Research Plan

              The stakeholders identified within my evaluation are the staff, volunteers, clients, community investors and board of directors at the Newington Clothes Closet. These individuals are truly invested within this program, interested in the results of this evaluation, and have a stake in what will be done with the results of the evaluation. They must be respected at all times during the evaluation, in order for it to proven successful. Therefore, their needs and interests must be represented and meet throughout this evaluation. By addressing the stakeholders needs and interests within this nonprofit organization, my evaluation will help them discover their programs effectiveness within the community and among their clients. Therefore, promoting the necessary improves and changes to their existing programs while developing new programs to address the unspoken needs of other clients throughout the community.

       In order to help stakeholders, retrieve this relevant information, my evaluation will be focused on an Objectives Based Evaluation.  This type of evaluation centers on the specific goals and objectives of this nonprofit organization and their outcomes within the community. The goal of this type of evaluation is to provide stakeholders at Newington Clothes Closet with valuable information and insight on better ways of serving their community and their clientele. In order to provide them with this information, my evaluation will identify their most effective program and its survival rate within the community. These factors will be determined within this evaluation by addressing such questions as: which program offered at the Newington Clothes Closet has sufficiently impacted its client’s overall well-being and why? and what makes this program thieve? By identifying these factors within this nonprofit organization, my evaluation will identify what key aspects of Newington Clothes Closet make their programs successful? In turn, determining the stakeholder’s impact on the success of their programs. Evaluating the client’s overall satisfaction with the services being provided and addressing their concerns about current programs along with identifying new methods to improve existing programs. 

     Therefore, determining if the organization is upholding their mission statement. Not only will my evaluation determine Newington Clothes Closet motivation behind serving their community, but also the community’s willingness to support this local nonprofit organization. By addressing these concerns throughout my evaluation, I will provide the organization with informative information to aid them in upholding their mission statement, improving upon existing programs, create new programs, improving partnerships within the community, and improving client relations. In order to enable this nonprofit organization to make these changes happen, I will use various methods of collecting data throughout my evaluation. These methods consist of conducting face-to-face interviews with stakeholders, distributing surveys and questionnaires to clients and stakeholders, and doing observations of client/staff interactions.

    Conducting observations will provide my evaluation with the necessary data to properly evaluate the stakeholder’s role within the organization’s success and their impact on their clientele. This method also enables me, as the evaluator, to formulate a different perspective of the effectiveness of Newington Clothes Closet personal, that is neither based on the opinions of program participants or staff.  Therefore, observations can be formed from different individuals throughout the evaluation process. Observers could be experts who are familiar with a wide range of similar programs or the needs the program is designed to meet, people especially trained to rate the variables that describe the program or outcomes of a program, people with relationships with participants such as family members or work associates, or the evaluators themselves ( Linfield &Posavac, pg.81).

      As the evaluator, interviewing stakeholders directly involved with Newington Clothes Closet during my evaluation by gaining their personal insight on the organization and its programs, along with any improves they would like to see happen within the organization. This method will also provide my evaluation with the correct data to determine if this organization is meeting the needs the of their staff and their organizations goals. Along with correctly identifying if their organizational goals are being satisfied, my evaluation will easily pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses among stakeholders. Therefore, it is important that, as the evaluator, I am familiar with the program and its participants. On the other hand, another way to conduct interviews for any evaluation is to do over the telephone interviews. This type of interview relies heavily on the stakeholder’s personal telephone and doesn’t require the evaluator to travel. This method also has a lower cost.

          On the other hand, distributing surveys and questionnaires to clients during my evaluation will be proven to be a costly experience but ultimately will retrieve the most valuable data. Along with being the most effect form of data collection, these documents are the most widely used in program evaluation. By administrating surveys and questionnaires to clients/stakeholders associated with Newington Clothes Closet, I will be able to accurately indicate program strengths and weaknesses. In turn, indicate what programs are working best and what programs are needs to meet clients’ needs within the community? Also, to identify if the clients are pleased with the programs offered and the services provided. In order to retrieve this important part of my evaluation, as the evaluator, these methods must contain open-end questions to ensure a correct response from the participants. Evaluators can also administer survey and questionnaires online. This method is a low-cost alternative to paper survey and questionnaires and has an increased the accuracy of data entry.

            By utilizing the Mixed Research Method within my evaluation, I am able evaluate Newington’s Clothes Closet with research that is methodology conducted that involves collecting, analyzing and integrating quantitative (experiments, surveys) and qualitative (focus groups, interviews) research. In turn, providing Newington Clothes Closet with accurate information to properly identify their most productive program and how it impacts its clientele. Not only will this method pinpoint Newington’s Clothes Closet most successful program and why, but it will also enable them to create new programs to better serve new clientele and their community. It will also help Newington Clothes Closet to understand what makes their nonprofit organization such a success throughout the community and how much of a role their staff/ volunteers play in that success.

           In conclusion, this evaluation plan will provide Newington Clothes closet with the proper tool to better serve their community and create new and improves for their clientele. Ultimately, creating new and unique relationships within the community. In turn, bridge the gap between different cultures within a multicultural society while addressing their needs and concerns.
