About Me

My name is Grace Davis, I am a senior at Old Dominion University and my major is Human Services. I transferred to Old Dominion University after receiving my associate of applied science in human services from Tidewater Community College in May of 2016. I have 2 more classes to complete before I can start my internship. In 1999, I graduated from Kingsborough Community College and received an associate of applied science in early childhood education. I worked with preschool children as a lead teacher. I worked there for many years and decided I wanted to still work with children but in a different capacity. I began working as a mental health technician with children who were diagnosed with mental disabilities and behavioral problems. I worked with extremely aggressive girls between the ages of 12 to 18 years old. It was there that I realized that I wanted to become a child therapist and help children who suffer with emotional and behavioral problems. My goal is to obtain an undergraduate degree in human services then attend graduate school and major in mental health counseling.
