Whether for better or for worse, the development of computers have changed our world in a completely different state than it was one lifetime ago. There are certain things that have come out of technology that many individuals have not even dreamed of, and all of those things affect everybody. One way that computers have made the world safer is the advancement of security systems. Creating high tech systems that can immediately detect and respond to specific malpractices, and developing them enough to where they can be set up in an easy matter, and bought at a reasonable price, has improved standard security drastically. In home security systems used to be a luxury for most households, but now it is easily accessible for anybody with a home. Another way computers have made the world safer is in the medical field. With technology constantly being invented and/or improved upon, it is impossible for the medical field to go untouched. Tools are being created to make surgeries quicker and more accurate, with the potential to lower the risk percentage because of them. Computers also make it easier to protect those tools, and use them with the tiniest of detail. But even with that, a computer based world is not necessarily the safest. One way that computers have made the world less safe is because of people’s growing dependence on them. Less and less individuals are becoming knowledgeable about the things that they use on a daily basis, those being computers. If something vital were to break or malfunction, it would most likely affect their life drastically until it is fixed. And even then, that product will not get fixed, but replaced, which creates unnecessary waste for our world. Because individuals are so technology dependent, many companies tend to make their products less durable so that their customers would spend money on a new one, which in turn, ruins our environment.
