I am majoring in cyber crime. My major relates because it is just another branch of cybersecurity. Cyber crime is defined as criminal activities that are done on any device that can access the internet, like phones, computers, tablets, etc.. These illegal acts include, but aren’t limited to, things like committing fraud, invading personal privacy, stealing sensitive information like credit cards and passwords, and altering or destroying data. Because my major focuses on crimes that are committed specifically on the internet, it is important for me to know the ins and outs of cybersecurity technology. I am tasked with protecting these computer systems and information from cyber attacks, so these concepts are connected.
