For this assignment, we were given the task to represent how we take in and use social media and more specifically, sports. Sadly, in the assignment instructions, an example of how to represent ourselves was “a long-suffering life as a fan of Detroit teams,”, which I very much am, so thank you Mrs Walker, I love being reminded of my sorrow. Anyways, I used my posts (Below) to show not only the ways I use social, but my enjoyment of the open-ended interaction.

For starters, like stated, I am a Detroit Tigers, Pistons, and especially Lions fan. As someone who has never been to Detroit, having a father who played football at MIchigan State led me down this path, and though it’s a tough one, is very much looking up. With that being said, I am a massive college football fan, rooting for MSU and Vandy growing up, playing at Alvernia University, but being able to claim a school of my own now at Old Dominion University. I wanted my posts to reflect my fandom of these schools, my love for ODU, and being a realistic Lions fan. I love the conversation in sports, the debates, the insane takes, and the interaction it brings amongst fans. I very little get into the conversation online,  but love indulging it. I chose this class for that same reason, the chatter and love of sports.

I also chose this style to represent how in love people get with their teams. Within my posts, I make a comment that Quinn Henicle (Old Dominions Quarterback) could be in the Heisman discussion come next fall. Is that possible? Well odds say no, but that’s what makes sports great, buying into a player or team that you hold dear, and never quitting on them, even in the toughest of times, and I feel as if my Twitter (X) page has truly represented that.
