End of the Semester Reflection

This reflects how I felt about the whole semester. It ties in everything that I have accomplished.

I have grown a lot since the beginning of the semester. Making sure I get everything turned in on time and balancing school and friends. I also have learned how to be independent and live on my own. Making sure everything in my room is organized, trash is taken out, etc. I expected this year to be more fun having more things to do on campus. I think because of covid many of the fun activities got taken away. However I have been maintaining good grades and making new friends. Overall most of my expectations were met even though there were many restrictions due to covid. Something I wish I knew 14 weeks ago would be that it’s ok to fail sometimes, don’t get too hard on yourself if you get one bad grade, grow from it and study harder next time.

As this semester went on I have maintained the same study habits. I have studied for about 2-3 hours a day and it has worked very well for me. Being able to do work during the day and going out at night has also been a good balance. My study habits might’ve slightly changed by taking more time out of the day to get things done. A resource that I used this semester was my peer mentor Mary. She has been a huge help and gave me some advice on how to get through college or how to manage time. I will definitely be using her advice and ask her any questions I have next semester. Making flashcards and doing practice homework questions has definitely helped me get through this semester so I will be using these techniques next semester as well.

All of my classes tied together based off of the themester social justice. All of my classes would also be tied into the medical field. Many of my teachers would bring in guest speakers or relate their test questions to social injustice or the medical field. The event that benefitted me the most was having the guest speakers on zoom. This benefitted me because I got to learn about many different professions in the medical field. It was eye opening to hear everyone talk about their job and it made me learn about different paths to go into. Overall this semester all my classes tied into each other because they all related to social justice and also the medical field.
