From my research on the BioCybersecurity component of this course, one ethical consideration is the level of safety associated with this process. The continuous advancement of technology necessitates rigorous testing to ascertain its functionality, requiring repeated experimentation to get consistent and desired outcomes. Consider the scenario where attempting to modify the DNA of an embryo results in the occurrence of a birth defect, genetic condition, or undesired genetic mutation. The children would essentially serve as experimental subjects, enabling the collection of long-term data on the impacts of the gene editing technique due to their limited number. There is a potential for significant negative reaction due to a hypothetical scenario of that nature.
