Criminal Investigations In Relation To AI

The use of AI in recent criminal investigations, along with its effects and difficulties, is reviewed in the article “Digital Criminal Investigations in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: A Comprehensive Overview” by Raed S.A. Faqir.  In his article, he went over how his topic relates to social science, data analysis, relevance, and what research questions may arise. There are many social science concepts of criminology and sociology explained in the article as well.  It examines the ways in which technology developments, like AI, affect criminal investigations. This aligns with how social science goes together with understanding human behavior. His article answers the questions of how exactly AI impacts digital criminal investigations and what that means for the legal and law enforcement industries. Faqir combines many studies on AI in criminal investigations through a detailed literature review. This approach takes into account a variety of points of view and actual evidence to aid in a wide understanding of the subject.The article, which emphasizes people’s experiences and views above statistics, draws material from academic journals, reports, and case studies. Putting all of this data together and thoroughly examining it to identify trends, issues, and opportunities pertaining to AI in digital criminal investigations is the analysis. The article relates to the topics we covered in class, such as how society determines technology and how technology influences society. It shows how society and technology coexist in the criminal justice system by discussing how AI impacts how crimes are investigated and laws are established. Faqir acknowledges that AI systems may have a biased and unjust layout, which might make life even more difficult for underprivileged groups. It highlights how important it is to consider ethics and implement safety precautions to prevent biased results in digital criminal investigations.The article provides valuable insights into how technology is transforming criminal investigations. We can better grasp the potential and difficulties we face in today’s legal and law enforcement systems by thoroughly examining the use of AI.
