The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is the connection between the two, and in many situations, both are used together. This is very prominent as many of today’s crimes are done through technology, and because of this many consequences come through the criminal system causing them to overlap. However, even though criminal justice can decide the consequences cybercrime helps determine the level of offense depending on the situation. With many factors and components going into this. A huge part of why cybercrime overlaps with criminal justice is digital forensics, as this job calls for gathering of evidence from devices and analyzing it, which helps solve crimes or helps prevent cyber-attacks. These jobs cause the use of criminal justice to provide the consequences for the actions found on a device, and cybercrime as they need someone who knows technology to decipher what huge parts of data and information mean. Today we know their tons of hacker groups and attacks. That cybercrime and criminal justice were both needed such as the hacking of a bank by Russians, botnet, and a forum that held criminal communication called the cybercriminal forum, or the dark web which causes the most collaboration between the two as a lot of criminal activity happens there, with many more events like this bigger or smaller causing the collaboration.  This overlap can be tied to this course because when dealing with cybercrime there are major myths that are to be believed that people who conduct cyber-attacks are skillful in many ways. Where this is not always the case, and this is also the same thinking when discussing other crimes and those who committed them as there is a term for those who do a crime that are respectable and have a high status known as white-collar criminals. Yet not all crimes are white-collar crimes
