Discussion Board: From this week’s reading “short arm” I have been able to gather my thoughts on how I would approach the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure. I feel that there are many approaches and some of the important ones include investing in research and from that research, we should develop more in cybersecurity, specifically more in defensive strategies and technologies. Education awareness is very crucial because everyone should know and understand the importance of having a secure online environment. Ethical considerations are also important due to the importance of knowing that there are new technologies that come out every day that can impact cybersecurity and knowing how to protect ourselves from new types of attacks.

Discussion Board: I would implement communication and transparency because it is a key factor to build trust. Establishing business goals is crucial, it ensures that your security initiatives align with the broader business objectives. Lastly I would establish risk management, you need to identify and prioritize the significant risks to the company.

Discussion Board: Cyber technology has its pros and cons in a workplace. However, cyber technology has created opportunities for workplace deviance such as unauthorized access and hacking into co workers personal accounts and other sensitive information. Employees can also be targeted for phishing and email scams to give sensitive information about ones work. Employees can even fall into software piracy and sell copyrighted computer software and even distribute them which is illegal. Another workplace deviance act is data manipulation, employees that know their job well can manipulate any data to their advantage.
