1. What are the costs and benefits of developing cybersecurity programs in business?

Small businesses make it very easy to be targeted by hackers and they can’t just jump back to recovery like many other big businesses who may get attacked because they usually don’t have a plan for things like this without someone on their team with a strong knowledge of cyber security. They can have their business shut down due to fees, loss of valuable information, and no signs of future recovery. So, for starters they should make it a number one priority to get someone on their team with a background in cybersecurity who doesn’t have to be full time but more on call in case of any attacks or any types of preparation they may need from any attacks to benefit themselves and make sure they can have a longer run-in whatever industry they are in without worrying about being shut down due to cyber-attacks. If they have enough money to spare, I say hire a red team and blue team hacker in order to help defend their business as well as open up their minds to any vulnerabilities that they may have in their programs. But businesses as a whole who may have more money to spare should always make it a top priority to include some type of cybersecurity worker into their payroll whether it is a white hat hacker, red team, blue team whatever they deem necessary to help them in the long run. I would definitely suggest both red teams to hack whatever is vulnerable in their systems already which like I said would show them the vulnerabilities that are already there. A blue team hacker will make sure those vulnerabilities will be taken care of so they can no longer be exploited and used against them. Though bigger businesses may have more money in case affected by a vulnerability it is always better to stay ready, so you won’t have to worry about it down the line.
