Cybersecurity technology has always been something I have been interested in growing up due to my family. My uncle who was more like a father to me is a computer scientist with a degree in computer science and whether or not I liked it or not he wanted me to have a skill in life that I could fall back on if I didn’t have any other plans or things, I wanted to do career wise. Since it was kind of force fed as a child, I didn’t like it much since it seemed like I was being forced to learn which no kid likes, but as I grew up and started doing it on my own, I grew to love it. I loved the programming aspect, how I code whatever I wanted to build and then boom there it is for me to view in website or app format. I created two starter apps by the time I was 17 with the help of my uncle of course but the whole process made me fall deeper in love with the concept even more. At first, I was a criminal justice fanatic but when I found out I can basically combine the two with cyber law and cyber forensics I immediately changed my mind and became a pure cybersecurity major. In my opinion computer science of course is the closest related to cybersecurity and the programming aspect of it, criminal justice is also related as I mentioned before with cyber law, information technology or IT is definitely another course that is closely related to cybersecurity. Lastly, I feel as though game development/game design are other topics that are very closely related to cybersecurity since they are all topics excluding criminal justice that have a background in either coding, computer technology, or overall, just digital works.
