Deviant acts over the web.

As cyber technology continues to grow, so does the chance for deviant, or non acceptable acts, such as harmful ones. The thing about the web is it is a lot easier to commit these acts due to the fact that it is not face to face, but it is over the web, and because of that it is easier for a person to conceal their identity. This behavior can take place in any workplace involving cyber technology, but it is a bit more common in certain work fields, such as the education and health care fields. An example of a workplace deviant act would be an employee leaves a company on bad terms, and then decides to join another company, and in doing so, he decides to give or sell his previous employers information to the new company. Or, if an employee never lost the ability to access the security systems, they could shut them down. Another example would be someone who wants to hack a rival companies information, this would also be an improper act. As mentioned, cyber technology has made it easier for people to commit deviant acts, especially as technology in all forms continues to expand. Because of this, a rival company for example could inflict more damage or steal more information until they are caught. Or, in the healthcare field, a hospital may have to shut down systems for awhile because patient information is being stolen, which could be used to write fraudulent prescriptions, or if a famous athlete has a injury, someone could steal his information and sell it to a sports reporter for money, which actually happened before. While workplace deviance happens and will probably always occur in some aspects of society, cyber technology makes it easier because of the fact people can use methods to mask their identity, and find many ways to commit the dangerous acts.
