Engineers make cyber networks safer in that they work together on cyber networks, one way is that they can track an attack that happened so that they can be better prepared for the attacks. The engineers can determine what the exact attack was, how it happened, what vulnerabilities were exposed, and how to take measures so that the attack doesn’t happen in the future. Engineers can also create new and improved cyber networks with stronger cybersecurity and updated software, which in turn makes it less likely a cyberattack may occur. The updated software helps eliminate vulnerabilities and helps the cybersecurity systems remain on point. Engineers are basically the backbone per say of cyber networks by how they keep them safe. As mentioned, they are the ones who help keep networks safe, whether that be monitoring the firewall and making sure there are no soft spot vulnerabilities, or making sure that information remains encrypted and not able to be breached. Engineers can also implement future protocols as preventative measures into the networks to help protect them. Engineers are constantly looking over an organization’s cyber network, they can be, in a sense, the cyber doctors, or the cyber security information doctors, and as mentioned are basically the backbone of networks because of this. Engineers learn about what attacks can happen, how they happen, what damages they can cause, how to, in essence, repair the damage, and then how to prevent the attack from happening again. As technology continues to become more and more prevalent in today’s society, engineers and their abilities to help keep cyber networks safe become more and more important. This also means the demand for engineers will continue to grow, as they, as mentioned, are extremely important for helping to keep networks as safe as they can, and also to continue to update networks or create new ones.
